Where in Europe could a demonstrated innovation be replicated?

As part of Replication task of the H4C ECoP project, Strane assessed where the technologies and value chains demonstrated by H4C partner projects could be deployed across Europe

From demonstration to replication

The study focused on the I-US value chains of 3 sister projects (SYMSITES, WaterProof and AshCycle), with one key question: where in Europe do we find locations with a similar set of industries and conditions to replicate these synergies?

With each consortium, Strane characterised the value chain (emitting and receiving industries, resource valorised or shared, technology involved), then crossed it with geolocated European industrial data to find matching configurations.

Identifying the most promising regions

For each value chain, the analysis mapped potential sites and highlighted the regions and countries with the highest concentration of matching industrial configurations of the demonstration projects. These results feed the projects’ exploitation and replication strategies, from single demonstrations towards wider deployment.
